Town-Gown Relationships in Stevens Point: Building a Better Community Together

April 13, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

How can higher education and local institutions cooperate in building a better Stevens Point?

Community members are invited to a panel presented by the UWSP Center for the Small City.  “Town-Gown Relationships in Stevens Point: Building a Better Community Together” will feature UW-Stevens Point Chancellor Thomas Gibson, community development leaders, government officials, and members of the Portage County Business Council. The event will take place in The Pinery Room at the Stevens Point Public Library, on Thursday, April 13 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Each panelist will address three topics: (1) How have town-gown relationships affected their institution and their role; (2) what are some of the problems associated with town-gown relationships in their opinion; and (3) suggest ways to improve town-gown relationships in our community.

The roundtable is moderated by Dean of the Colleges of the Letters and Science, Joshua Hagen. Audience members will be encouraged to join the discussion.
