THE VALUE OF A UW-STEVENS POINT EDUCATION
The Midwest Student Exchange Program is a multi-state tuition discount that offers students in Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, or Ohio reduced tuition rates.
Who is eligible to participate?
To participate, students must be a legal resident of Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota or Ohio. Minnesota residents are charged tuition fees based on the Minnesota/Wisconsin tuition reciprocity agreement.
How do I apply to participate in the program?
Note that the admissions application will be used to verify eligibility; no separate application process is needed. Follow the steps necessary for admission and enrollment outlined on the UW-Stevens Point Admissions website.
What is the value of the discount?
Tuition for MSEP students attending UW-Stevens Point campus is equal to approximately 150 percent of the in-state tuition rate, which is significantly less than the regular non-resident rate. For the complete Tuition and Fee Tables, visit this website.
Destination Wisconsin Scholarship: Our Destination Wisconsin Scholarship is guaranteed to any new undergraduate student with a 2.75+ GPA or 19+ ACT/980+ SAT who is not a resident of Wisconsin or Minnesota. MSEP students who meet this criterion will automatically be awarded $1,000/year for 4 years. Learn more.
What academic programs/majors participate in MSEP?
All undergraduate and graduate program are eligible for MSEP except for the following*: Health and Wellness Management, Health Information Management and Technology, BSN@Home Program, and the Clinical Doctorate in Audiology.

What are the qualifications for participating in MSEP?
MSEP applicants are subject to the same admission requirements as other applicants. Please consult the UWSP Admissions page for the current admission requirements. MSEP participants must be formally admitted to UW-Stevens Point at the undergraduate or graduate level. Please note that the University of Wisconsin System imposes an “excess Credits Surcharge” to students accumulating more than 165 credits. MSEP students will be charged at regular non-resident rates for any term of enrollment after having completed 165 credits as MSEP participants.
- UW-Stevens Point permits qualified students who are legal residents of the participating states to participate in MSEP.
- UW-Stevens Point reserves the right to impose limits and/or modifications to the program participation in the future.
How do I apply to participate in the program?
To enroll in MSEP, just follow the steps necessary for admission and enrollment outlined on the UWSP Admissions website. Students who have been admitted to UW-Stevens Point and meet the MSEP eligibility requirements will be automatically considered for the tuition benefit.
