Schmeeckle Nature Reserve

Schmeeckle Reserve is a 280-acre conservancy area on the campus of UW-Stevens Point, set aside to protect natural communities of central Wisconsin. It is open to the public and serves as a unique gathering place for the community and university. Explore 5 miles of trails and boardwalks, a 24-acre lake, and a large diversity of habitats that support numerous wildlife species.

The Reserve is managed by the College of Natural Resources to protect and restore ecosystems, serve as an outdoor classroom for learning, and provide outdoor recreation opportunities.

Schmeeckle Reserve has two main event spaces that are rentable by the community. These include the Roy and Margaret Menzel Pavilion and the Pankowski Friends Amphitheater.

Events at UW-Stevens Point

UW-Stevens Point is host to many large conferences and events every year. One of the longest standing annual traditions is the AIRO Pow Wow, put on through collaboration with our Native American Center and American Indians Reaching for Opportunities student organization. This event is hosted in our Marshfield Clinic Champions Hall. If you’re interested in hosting a large event on campus, contact Conference and Event Services to reserve a space today!
