Cosmic Cycles (Live presentation)

May 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

What are the natural cycles in the cosmos? Join a special LIVE presentation in the UWSP Blocher Planetarium on May 26.  Planetarium director, Dr. Sebastian Zamfir will talk about fundamental units of time as they relate to natural cycles in cosmos: day, month, year. We will also relate the days of the week and some important objects in our solar system. Other topics will be the synchronization of our calendars and the seasons, the precession of the seasons, the shift in the celestial poles. If time permits, we will include a few ideas about the historical development of the calendars.

Admission

There is no charge for our public programs, although donations of $1-$2 per attendee will be greatly appreciated to allow us to continue these public programs for our community.

Parking

Parking is free on campus for our guests only on Saturdays and Sundays. From Monday-Friday, the UWSP parking lots are enforced 2 am – 7 pm. Please visit this website for more details about parking options, rules, and regulations.
