Solar Load Kit

Solar photovoltaic panels can be used to collect sunlight and turn it into clean, renewable electricity. The Solar Load Kit includes a variety of loads (appliances) that can be run off of the included solar panels and batteries. Students can experiment making simple circuits that use solar panels to run fans, lights, and water pumps.

Students can further explore current flow creating circuits in parallel and series. Explore the similarities between solar panels and batteries by using the included lessons to create circuits using either, then hook them up to multimeters and loads to test their power production.

This kit is compatible with Solar Tilt Kit 2, which expands the opportunities for experimentation with an additional dozen solar panels and multimeters.

This kit includes:

  • 18 Solar Panels
  • Assorted LED and Incandescent Light Bulbs
  • 12 Water Pumps and Tubes
  • 12 Motors with Stands and Fan/Propeller Blades
  • 6 Multimeters
  • 6 LED Light Boards
  • Power Output Board
  • 96 Alligator Clips
  • 15 Battery Holders
  • 6 Switches
  • 6 Battery Chargers and 72 Batteries
  • 6 Mini Lightbulbs and spare bulbs and holders
