Bat Kits for Grades K-12

Educators may check out one of three Wisconsin bat educational kits for use in the classroom free of charge.

There is a K-3 kit, a 4-6 kit, and a 7-12 kit.

Each kit contains a teacher’s guide to help the educator share information about bats, as well as many bat-friendly books, posters, and videos.

Each kit includes an Echometer for measuring bat echolocation. The Echometer must be plugged into a phone or tablet USB-C port and requires the Wildlife Acoustics Echometer app to use. The Echometers were generously made available by the Wisconsin DNR Bat Program, on permanent loan from Virginia Tech researchers at Langwig Lab and Disease Ecology and Conservation Lab.
