FAMILY DAY EVENTS


Visit your favorite Pointer in their residence hall and join in on fun activities starting in the morning and continuing until dark!

FAMILY DAY ACTIVITIES BY QUAD

Family Day Suggestions: 

  • Show off dorm room
  • Have brunch together at DeBot Dining Center
  • Attend the Family Day activities near your hall
  • See the fall colors in Schmeeckle Reserve
  • Participate in the 5K walk/run
  • Pick out some UWSP merch at the Bookstore
  • See a Planetarium show (6 to choose from!)
  • Check out the Homecoming Hotspot
  • Go to Homecoming Football game (or Tennis, or Soccer)
  • End the day with some evening stargazing

HOMECOMING HOTSPOT

Join us at Goerke Park before the big game against UW-River Falls for a morning filled with Pointer reunions, delicious food from local food trucks, exciting axe throwing, inflatable games for the kids, music by a DJ, a photobooth for capturing memories, Pointer Pep Band, and more.

This free event welcomes all Alumni, Friends, and Community Members to join in the festivities and make new memories with old friends.

Banner Decorating Competition
Registration Form  

Open to any UWSP student group, organization, or club 

  • Banner is 5′ x 3′ 
  • Pre-Registration opens Friday, October 3rd and closes Tuesday, October 7th at noon.   
  • Pick up the free, provided banner at the Housing and Residence Life front desk anytime from Tuesday, October 7th at noon to Thursday, October 9th at 4 PM. 
    • Located in the Student Services Center, Suite 102
  • Drop Off Banner at the Housing and Residence Life front desk anytime on Friday, October 10th from 9 AM- 2 PM.   

Door Decorating Competition

Registration Form 

Open to any on-campus UWSP student or roommates.

  • Transform your residence hall door into a vibrant display of UWSP spirit.   
  • Submissions will open on Friday, October 10th and will close on Wednesday, October 15th at 11:55 PM on SPIN. 

Bed Races Competition

Registration Form 

Open to any UWSP Students and Faculty/Staff – Guests can participate as well.  

  • Friday, October 17 from 4-5:30 PM; Team check in at 3:30 PM; Colman Track  
  • Compete in teams of 4 to win!  
  • Registration closes Thursday, October 16 at 8 PM

Registration Form 

Open only to UWSP at Stevens Point office (e.g. division, college, school, department.) If Faculty Member, they will submit on behalf of their program.  

  • Transform your office space into a vibrant display of UWSP spirit.   
  • Submissions will open on Friday, October 10th and will close on Wednesday, October 15th at 11:55 PM on SPIN.

Homecoming and Family Day at UWSP are all about fun, connection, and Pointer pride! Homecoming brings alumni back to campus to relive memories and share their experiences with students, while Family Day gives families a chance to visit and show their support. With games, creativity, and community spirit, these traditions make UWSP feel like home for everyone!
