The Edna Carlsten Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point regularly exhibits work by regional, national, and international artists, but you probably didn’t know it also houses art from students at the school, and you’ll get to see that gallery on Thursday night and meet some of the artists.
It’s called the Schneider Student Gallery. There are around 15 students who are going to be featured. They are from the School of Communication and Design at UWSP. The students were asked to reflect and respond, creating art through experience. It was the idea of acclaimed painters and sculptors, Michelle Grabner and Brad Killam. The collection will consist of paintings, videos, and more. One cool idea was created by a student, Anna Rebecca Clasen. It is an interactive demonstration of Broom Meditation, based on the book ‘Grapefruit by Yoko Ono’.
