The UW-Stevens Point Department of Theatre and Dance will stage the play “Kodachrome” March 1-3 and 7-9.

A play about small town life will be staged at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point March 1-3 and 7-9.

“Kodachrome,” a play written by Adam Szymkowicz, will be performed by the Department of Theatre and Dance in the Studio Theatre of the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2, and Thursday through Saturday, March 7 through 9, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. It is part of the “Hidden Lives” theatre and dance season.

Tickets are $27 for adults, $24 for seniors and UW-Stevens Point faculty and staff, and $16 for youth. Tickets will be available for purchase at tickets.uwsp.edu, by calling 715-346-4100 or by visiting the Information and Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center in Stevens Point. Tickets may also be available at NFAC starting one hour prior to each performance.

Set in a small town named Colchester, the play allows local photographer Suzanne to give audiences a peek into the lives of her neighbors. She captures glimpses of romance in a town where the pace of life allows the pursuit of love to take up as much space as it needs.

“We witness people falling in and out of love and dealing with all the feelings surrounding life’s loves and losses,” said director Tyler Marchant, professor of theatre. The cast consists of 13 actors and 7 understudies with a guest lighting designer, all working to showcase a visually exciting landscape for audiences. “I hope the play allows audiences to reflect on their own lives,” Marchant said, “and maybe come to some new understandings.”
