Author and business strategist Liz Nilsen will be the speaker at a free Business and Society Lecture at UW-Stevens Point Friday, Oct. 28.

A presentation on the need for collaboration in business will be offered next week, free of charge through the School of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The annual Business and Society Lecture will be held at 7:30-9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in the Alumni Room of the Dreyfus University Center, 1015 Reserve St., Stevens Point. A virtual option is also available for those registered by noon on Oct. 27.

The speaker is Liz Nilsen, associate director of the Agile Strategy Lab at the University of North Alabama and director of operations of the Strategic Doing Institute. Nilsen is also the co-author of the award-winning 2019 book, “Strategic Doing: Ten Skills for Agile Leadership.

According to Nilsen, focused collaboration and innovation are key to success in today’s global economy.

“Networks can be composed of different businesses and community partners with a common goal or different units within a single organization” she said. “The ‘Strategic Doing’ framework is ideal for tackling complex interconnected problems.”
