The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is hosting an event next month that will bring together two seasoned political analysts for a discussion of the American political landscape.

Donna Brazile, former chair of the Democratic Party, and Republican strategist Ana Novarro will present “The Health of American Democracy in a Polarized Worldat 7 p.m., Monday, April 8, in the Dreyfus University Center Laird Room, 1015 Reserve St., Stevens Point. The conversation will be moderated by Wisconsin Public Radio’s Rob Mentzer.

The talk is sponsored by the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership and is presented by the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS) and UW-Stevens Point. Attendees may also access the event via Zoom by registering at https://tinyurl.com/thompson24.

With years of political expertise and media experience under their belts, Brazile and Navarro are among the best political commentators on television today.  Despite hailing from opposing political parties, these pundits join forces to speak truth to power and provide honest, blunt and humorous commentary on the American political landscape.

“In spite of the growing polarization in the country, people really do want to be able to engage in civil, constructive conversations with those on the other side of the political spectrum,” said Eric Giordano, executive director of WIPPS. “Donna Brazile and Ana Novarro are prominent figures in the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, but their easy-going, respectful rapport can serve as a model for all of us.”

In addition to regular appearances on CNN and “Good Morning America,” Brazile was a commentator for Fox News from 2019-2021. A contributor to CNN, Navarro has appeared frequently on “Meet the Press” and hosted “The View.”
