University of Wisconsin Stevens Point  graduates accepted their diplomas and entered the workforce Saturday.

The class of 2022 and their families filled the campus on Saturday. Graduates said they are prepared to take their lessons out of the classroom and put them to work.

“I just put a lot of time and effort into the last four years learning how to be a wildlife professional and how to better the environment,” Brilyn Brecka, a class of 2022 graduate said.

One university official said it is paying off in a big way. Of the graduating seniors who have reported, 70 percent said they have already found a job after college.

“This is up from what is usually about 50 percent in previous years so it’s a reflection of the local and national economy,” Academic and Career Advising Center Assistant Director Jacquie Guthrie said.
