Each of UW-Stevens Point’s 12 residence halls will be presenting unique programming. Experience YOUR student’s community!

Alginate Poppers!!
Atrium area on 1st floor of Chemistry Biology Building near cafe
Sodium alginate is an amazing seaweed product that gels instantly in the presence of calcium. We use it here to create fruit juice bubbles that burst in your mouth!

Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream
Outside the main first-floor entrance to the CBB (southwest side), weather permitting
Enjoy some ice cream made with liquid nitrogen, which cools things to -320.4o F! While supplies last.

Explore the programs and facilities in the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

Family Day/Homecoming – The Pointer Bundle
Goerke Park, Community Stadium
Love a good deal? We have a bundle perfect for any Pointer! Join the UWSP Alumni Association at the Homecoming Hotspot party for a chance to win scholarships and prizes! A special Native American Invocation and Drum will take place prior to the event. Other features include Warrior Jungle Obstacle Course – meet Jason Barber ‘07 and Drew Knapp, competitors on the American Ninja Warrior show. Free pizza from Papa John’s will be served (while supplies last) or pay cash at any of the local food trucks: Purple Basil, Chef C’s Munchie Mobile, Smokehouse Barbeque and Hanumans Express. Meet fellow Pointers at the Iris Reunion and Alumni Reunions, this and much more before the Homecoming football game!

Watch the women’s soccer team take on the UW-Whitewater Warhawks during Homecoming. Wear your purple and gold in support of the Pointers!

Cheer on your Pointer football team as they battle the UW-Platteville Pioneers for a Homecoming win! Stop by and take a picture with Stevie Pointer!

STARGAZING AT DEBOT FIELDS
8:30 p.m. Stargazing with portable telescopes, DeBot Field (please note: this event is weather permitting and cannot happen if there are clouds/rain – the event will be cancelled)

SCHMEECKLE RESERVE
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Canoe and kayak Lake Joanis-Schmeeckle Reserve. South shore of Lake Joanis, park along Maria Drive. Paddle Lake Joanis for free with a canoe or kayak from Schmeeckle’s Outdoor Rentals. Paddles and life jackets will be supplied. (till 2 p.m.)
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Schmeeckle Reserve Visitor Center open, 2419 North Point Dr.
Free coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks. Family Day SALE: All regularly priced clothing in the visitor center gift shop is 20% off. For discount, tell staff you are with Family Day at the register! (till 4 p.m.)
11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Schmeeckle Reserve guided hike. Schmeeckle Reserve Visitor Center, 2419 North Point Drive. Discover prairie, oak savanna, wetlands, and other habitats that are being restored in Schmeeckle. Watch for wildlife and try your hand at pulling some invasives!

COMMUNITY EVENTS
7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Stevens Point Farmers Market, Mathias Mitchell Public Square, 913 Main Street
Enjoy walking through the Stevens Point Farmers Market in downtown Stevens Point. Located on Main Street, visitors can stop by to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade bake goods, flowers and wonderful food!
12-4 p.m. Beth Israel Synagogue Museum open – 1474 Water St.
