Valerie Barske

BIO

Professor Barske joined the UW-Stevens Point faculty in 2007, lecturing in Women’s Studies and Peace Studies. Barske earned her Ph.D. at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she specialized in the cultural history of Okinawa, modern Japan, women and gender studies, critical theories of the body and embodiment.

She is so proud of how the UWSP champions international cultural studies and welcomes a great variety of students interested in both history and interdisciplinary research. Barske is a certified Laughter Yoga leader!
