Love in action is service

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A therapist or an educator.

Favorite Quote?

“Where there is not community, trust, respect, ethical behavior are difficult for the young to learn and for the old to maintain.”- Robert Greenleaf

One thing about your school that you are most proud of?

I am so proud to be a part of a team of professors working to move education forward. Every decision that is made is with the intention of not only bettering our students at UWSP but students who are in our K-12 classrooms in our surrounding communities. The work that I have witnessed has been nothing short of inspiring.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

Serving the needs of others. Getting to tap into our shared experiences as a class and collectively learning the concepts discussed each day has always been one of the most joyful experiences I have had as an educator.

A piece of advice for students in your school?

“Not much happens without a dream. And for something great to happen, there must be a great dream. Behind every great achievement is a dreamer of great dreams. Much more than a dreamer is required to bring it to reality, but the dream must be there first.” – Robert Greenleaf

Dreams matter. The impact that each educator can make on the lives of children is truly limitless when serving the needs of others is at the forefront of your attention. Above all else, make sure that your students know that you believe in them.
