“Hello! I’m Jenny and thrilled to be a Pointer! Growing up on a dairy farm taught me the benefits of hard work and instilled within me an appreciation for nature and animals; therefore, I enjoy trees, deer hunting, helping with farm chores, and feeding cookies to our donkey. I am a joyful person with an eclectic array of interests. Some of these include driving my Harley motorcycle, polka dancing, knitting, refinishing furniture, shopping at thrift stores, and anything Elvis Presley. The top items on my “life’s to-do list” are owning a small antique/craft store, performing in a musical, and visiting Graceland. My childhood dream of being a teacher was fulfilled when I served as a high school English teacher and Drama Director for 20 years. I whole heartedly believe in the transformative power of education and life experiences and I’m excited to support UWSP students on their college adventures. “
What she wanted to be when she grew up: The wife of Elvis Presley, a singer, actress, doctor, or a teacher
Her favorite place on campus: The tropical conservatory in the Chemistry- Biology Building (especially because of how good it smells in there)
Advice she has for students: “The college experience is so much more than just academics; embrace the journey of learning about yourself. Also choose joyfulness and ask for help when you need it. There are so many people walking beside you on your journey.”
