Jeff Barth

Hi, I’m Jeff—a proud UWSP alumnus! Originally from nearby Green Bay, I’ve always been drawn to Stevens Point for its unique blend of big-city energy and small-town charm. I came to UWSP looking to discover my purpose, and found that through the support of a welcoming university and community. I even met my wife while attending college here!

After graduation, my career took my family and me around the world—from Germany to Japan and across the U.S.—but we ultimately chose to return to Stevens Point. It simply feels like home. Being back allows us to stay close to family and gives me the opportunity to give back to the university that gave me so much. I hope my experience can help you discover your purpose, too!

Piece of advice he has for students: Use this time to explore, both academically and socially.  I still have friends and contacts from when I attended college here.  This is where you continue to build your network.  Get involved with your campus and community through clubs, groups or community organizations, it will make your experience here fuller. Oh, one last bit of advice; do a study abroad program while you are here.  Studying abroad will expand your horizons in ways that will benefit you more than you can imagine!

What he wanted to be growing up:  A Teacher, a Lawyer, a Chiropractor, a Rodeo Clown…I was all over the map on that growing up!

What he enjoys about UWSP: I love the big school opportunities with smaller school feel, and supportive faculty and staff.

Favorite place on campus and why: The Noel Fine Arts Center.  I am a strong advocate of the Arts and find not only entertainment in the form of music, theater and art, but also creative nourishment.
