Isabel Kelly

Bio

Isabel Kelly is a Wisconsin artist who earned her BA in Studio Art and Theatre at Lawrence University and her MFA in Art at the University of Lethbridge. She worked as a Scenic Artist at Thrid Avenue Playworks in Sturgeon Bay, WI, along with assisting at the Degree Art/Artellite galleries in Somerset House, London, England. Isabel has shown her work in state as well as internationally, exhibiting in galleries such as Wriston Galleries in Appleton, WI and Casa in Lethbridge, AB, Canada. Isabel assisted lectures for Sculpture, Textile, Drawing, and Digital Fabrication at the University of Lethbridge. She is currently lecturing Foundational courses at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.

Isabel works primarily with object based mixed media. Her favorite methods of making include textiles, digital 3D printing, woodworking, and painting. The themes she explores in her work often revolve around narrative as she traverses the art of storytelling by weaving details within her work. Narratives being examined can vary from theatrical plays to slice of life vignettes.
