FUN FACTS

Most memorable book you read this year?

The Great Influenza by John Barry

Best advice you ever received?

From then-Dean of CNR Daniel Trainer, when I was a secretary in the college.  “If you’re going to work here, you need to take this introductory class.” So I did, and it led to three degrees and a wonderful lifetime career.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

Librarian

Favorite quote?

There is nothing like the end of the day, except the beginning and everything in between.

One thing about your college that you are most proud of?

I’m always impressed by the collegiality of CNR.  While crises come and go, our administrators, teaching teams, and staff work tirelessly to make things better for our students.  There is a common goal of excellence of service to our students and our field.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

A piece of advice for students?

Be willing to ask questions–you’ll not only help yourself, but you’ll also help others who are afraid to ask. Learn from your mistakes and embrace change.

“I am over-the-top enthusiastic about introducing students to the world I love.  Having come to the university teaching later in my career, I enjoy being able to share my true-life experiences to help students better prepare for their own careers.”
