Apoorva Rane Bio Dr. Apoorva Rane’s areas of interest include evidence-based design for healthcare, neurodiversity, and sustainability. She completed a Ph.D. in Interior and Environmental Design in 2022 and a Master of Science in Environmental Design in 2017 from Texas Tech University. Dr. Rane’s work includes several academic and industry-based collaborative research projects in real and virtual healthcare settings, including emergency departments, peri-operative units, medical-surgical units, and nursing work areas. Her doctoral dissertation unfolds the impacts of prolonged exposure to biophilic components on nurses’ cognitive and physiological outcomes. Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Patient Safety, Health Environments Research and Design (HERD), and Sustainability. Dr. Rane is a journal reviewer, including the Journal of Interior Design and Health Environments Research & Design (HERD) journal. She is involved in various design projects, such as residential, healthcare, kitchen, and furniture designs, and has more than six years of experience in practice, research, and teaching.
