Accreditation Disclosure Statement

The Interior Architecture program leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture, is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, 206 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW, Suite 350, Grand Rapids, MI, 49503.” 

The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Architecture granted by The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam). Interior Architecture Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA)


It typically takes a full-time student taking approximately 15 credits per semester four years to complete the undergraduate degree program with a minimum of 120 University credits. The Interior Architecture BFA degree requires 78 credits including design-related or qualified electives. For transfer students, the typical graduation time is 7 semesters or 3.5 years.

The following data was collected using institutional records and an alumni survey that was administered in the Spring of each academic year.

Student Attrition and Retention within Interior Architecture Major

43 of 63 students admitted in the fall of 2021 returned in the fall of 2022, putting attrition at 31.7%.
29 of 40 students admitted in the fall of 2020 returned in the fall of 2021, putting attrition at 27.5%.
20 of 32 students admitted in the fall of 2019 returned in the fall of 2020, putting attrition at 37.5%.


Average Graduation Rate from 2022-2020 = 75%

Note: the number of students graduating in 5 years or 3.5 years is not accounted for in the 4 year graduation data.  


Between 2018 and 2021, no students reported entering a graduate program.


Average Job Placement Rate from 2019-2021 = 61% (of those who responded to the survey)
