David Barry BIO The joint department of Sociology and Social Work allows us to connect the professional and academic, applied and theoretical seamlessly. David Barry teaches in the Department of Sociology and serves as Sociology Internship Field Coordinator IRB Charirperson. His areas of research include sociology of religion, globalization, social theory, post-communist societies and environmental sociology. On campus, Barry serves as faculty advisor for the Sociology and Social Work Organization. He’s part of the College of Letters and Science Undergraduate Research Symposium Planning Committee. Barry has been featured in the UW-Stevens Point Community Lecture Series. He most enjoys seeing students connect the dots between class content and real-world applications during field trips, internships, and their careers.
