How do I care for my PointCard?

Make sure to always carry your student PointCard with you so that you have it when needed.

DO NOT share or loan your PointCard. You are liable for all activities authorized by your card.

Please do the following to protect your PointCard:

Do not bend or punch holes in the card. Doing so will damage the embedded chip and antenna.

Do not scratch your PointCard, do not wash/dry it in laundry machines, and do not expose it to magnets or extreme heat.

See the FAQ, "How do I replace a damaged PointCard".

How soon can I use my new PointCard?

Your new PointCard is active immediately. However, electronic locks, key tenders, and other services may take up to 90-minutes before they recognize your card.

How do I report a lost or stolen PointCard?

It is critical that a lost or stolen PointCard is reported as soon as possible so that your card can be deactivated.  This prevents unauthorized access to your residence hall and other university buildings and campus services.

What to do if you lose your PointCard:

  • Report the card as lost:

    • During business hours, contact the PointCard Office (715-346-2012).

    • Outside of business hours, you should report your missing card using the GET website or by using the GET app on your mobile device.

Reporting your PointCard as lost disables the card access to your meal plan/Dawg dollars, and other campus services.

  • If you live in a UWSP Residence Hall, inform your hall director. When a PointCard is reported as lost, there can be a delay in disabling the doorlock permissions on the card.

  • If you have activated the U.S. Bank ATM privilege, make sure to contact the bank immediately at 715-343-2210 during regular business hours, or 800-872-2657 after hours to deactivate this part of your card.

Did you find your PointCard?

Your card may be able to be reactivated by stopping by the PointCard Office with a photo ID such as your driver's license.

If you found your PointCard, you must contact U.S. Bank separately to have their service reactivated.

See the following FAQ, "How do I replace a lost/stolen PointCard".
