Composition

Professor Berk is an active composer, with many commissions for wind band, chamber music  and double reed works. Her composition Avian Suite, written in memory of a former student, was premiered October 2012 by the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. The woodwind quintet version of the work was performed by UWSP students on Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio in November 2014. 

Her composition Flight, for solo oboe and wind ensemble, was premiered October 2011 with Nancy Ambrose King, oboist and the UWSP Wind Ensemble, Prof. Brendan Caldwell, conductor. It was performed again in 2012 with Professor Berk as soloist with the UWSP Wind Ensemble at the Wisconsin Music Educators Association Conference October 26th.
