Recreation at Schmeeckle ReserveRecreationPage.jpg

Schmeeckle Reserve's third priority is to provide outdoor recreation opportunities, as long as those activities fit within the preservation and education priorities. The Reserve is a popular place for walking, jogging, bicycling, wildlife watching, birding, photography, and quiet reflection. It features 5 miles of trails that meander over wetland boardwalks, under towering pine trees, and alongside creeks and the shore of Lake Joanis.

The Reserve is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. The visitor center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
