Canvas Template Sessions

Your input is needed!

Tuesday, December 5
10:00-11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.- noon
Room 316 Albertson Hall

Canvas is the new learning management system (LMS) slated to replace D2L at UW institutions. This move is expected to start in April 2018, with courses being offered starting in Fall 2018. All courses will be available in Canvas as of Fall 2019. D2L will shut down on June 30, 2020.

The UW System workstream responsible for developing the template for courses in Canvas will be on campus the morning of December 5, offering two seperate sessions: one at 10:00 a.m., and one at 11:00 a.m. in Albertson Hall, room 316. Please bring your phone, tablet, or other devices on which you wish to preveiw the template.

During this visit, they will be previewing two potential templates for courses in Canvas. They would like to collect feedback from instructors and students about these template designs. Participants will be given an opportunity to navigate the templates, provide feedback on a survey, and the session will allow time for group discussion.

The template is the general navigation layout in a blank Canvas course. This is what an instructor will be presented with when they first start working on a course, and what students will use to navigate the course content.

All members of our campus community are welcome and encouraged to attend one of these sessions.
