WIST Scholar Program

The WIST Scholar program taps the expertise and creativity of UW-Stevens Point faculty and staff across campus to advance research and ideas that further the WIST mission. The program is open to faculty and staff at all four UW-Stevens Point colleges. Proposals for sustainability projects in research, education or laboratory services are evaluated by WIST staff; those winning approval are provided financial, administrative, and/or other support by WIST. In the first round of this program (2010-2011) WIST funded seven projects for a total of $119,000.

No Requests for Proposals are currently active. Any future calls for proposals will be announced through campus, college and department channels. Although no RFP is currently active, faculty and staff with project ideas that may align with the WIST mission are encouraged to contact Executive Director Paul Fowler to discuss whether the project may be a good fit for a collaboration with WIST. We have experience and expertise in pricing services, matching resources, and commercializing products, among other staff skills.
