Dates and Deadlines

January 1st - New FAFSA is Available

Next year's Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) is available online. File your FAFSA as soon as you complete your taxes.


March 15 - Priority Date for Filing the FAFSA

Continuing applicants should submit their FAFSA data on or before March 15 to be considered in the initial awarding process.


April - Award letters

The Financial Aid Office begins sending/emailing award letters to new freshmen.


April 15th - Tax Deadline

The tax deadline with the IRS is April 15th. Keep copies of your tax documents as they may be needed by the Financial Aid Office.


May - Award Letters to Continuing Students

Financial Aid Award letters for the upcoming summer, fall, and spring are emailed to applicants.


May 1st - UWSP Financial Aid Application Deadline Date

Although Financial Aid applications continue to be processed on a weekly basis throughout the year, it is important to complete all application requirements prior to May 1st preceding the award year. After this date, some funds may be depleted. This is UWSP's deadline date to complete the FAFSA and all other application requirements.

 

July (early) - Summer Credit and Refund

Summer is the beginning of our award year, therefore, if you are registered at least half-time during the summer session(s) you will be awarded financial aid. Summer financial aid is credited to your account and any refunds will be available within a day or two. You may sign up for direct deposit on your myPoint.

 

September (early) - Credit and Refund

Fall financial aid is credited to your account and any refunds will be available within a day or two. You may sign up for direct deposit on your myPoint.


January (mid) - Credit and Refund

Spring financial aid is credited to your account and any refunds will be available within a day or two. You may sign up for direct deposit on your myPoint.
