individuals to serve on the WEEB within the nine sector seats (agriculture,
business & industry, conservation & environmental organizations, energy,
environmental educators, forestry, higher education, labor, and nature
centers/museums/zoos).
Charge
The Nominating Committee is charged with
- Soliciting nominations for individuals to fill open board seats.
- Initial screening of nominees’ materials and selection of a nomination pool
as directed by the nomination policies provided within the Board’s structural
guidelines.
- Providing WEEB’s appointment recommendations to the University of Wisconsin
President so that appointments can be officially made.
- Communicating with other WEEB committees to ascertain needs and to provide
feedback that may direct their future action(s).
- Reporting to the WEEB at its quarterly meetings on the status of undertaken
initiatives.
Membership
The Nominating Committee will consist of three currently serving
WEEB members appointed by the WEEB chairperson. The committee chairperson will,
in consultation with committee and WEEB members, be identified by the WEEB
chairperson. Individuals will serve indefinite appointments, with the membership
typically reviewed annually during the WEEB’s July meeting.
Meeting Location and Times
Will be at the discretion of the committee.
- The Board expects the committee will make extensive use of email,
phone-conference calls and other technologies that reduce the need for
face-to-face meetings.
- The Board expects the committee will convene/communicate frequently enough
to be able to report progress on initiatives at each of the WEEB quarterly
meetings.
- The committee will be given substantial time on the WEEB’s April meeting
agenda in order to provide nomination materials to the Board for their review
and selection.
