05/18/16 The WEEB announces 2016 Wisconsin Sustainable Forestry Initiative Implementation Committee grant program recipients.

The 14 projects, worth more than $34,000 enable PK-12 public school students to obtain a better understanding of and appreciation for both the built and natural environments; the inter-connectedness of environment, economy and society; and sustainable forestry practices.

2/23/16 The WEEB announces 2016 School Forest grant program.

Due to a generous donation from the Wisconsin Sustainable Forestry Initiative Implementation Committee, the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB),  is seeking proposals for a 2016 School Forest grant cycle. The Board anticipates awarding a total of $20,000, with a maximum award of $2,500 per selected proposal, for school forest grants.

  The WEEB has elected Jim Jenson, Community Education Manger at Madison Gas and Electric Company (MGE) as Chair and Debra Weitzel, retired Middleton High School teacher as Vice-Chair. Terms begin July 1, 2014 and end June 30, 2016.

The WEEB is seeking an individual to complete the remainder of the existing term and then serve a three year term.  Term will begin Fall 2014 and end June 30, 2018.
