A drizzle couldn't stop the newest group of UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) graduates from celebrating during the first in-person spring commencement ceremony since the start of COVID-19 last year.
The outdoor ceremony took place at the UWSP Sundial. This was the first outdoor ceremony since 2010, where it was also held in the Sundial due to weather. The ceremonies were broken down into smaller groups to better manage social distancing, taking place through May 21-22.
"I was surprised that we could have it in person," said Bowen Li moments before preparing for his commencement. "Some of my friends were unable to have this kind of ceremony last year, I felt that I was lucky to be able to celebrate in person."
