NATIONAL DANCE EDUCATION ORGANIZATION -UWSP STUDENT CHAPTER 

Nine Dance Majors traveled to the 2018 NDEO Conference in San Diego to present their paper
 "The Client-Trainer Program: Peer Mentoring Through Movement Analysis."

NDEO provides professional development, networking forums, honor societies, journals, research and advocacy tools for teachers, administrators and students in the field of dance education centered in the arts. Our members teach multiple dance genres in a variety of environments including, but not limited to, K-12 schools, dance studios, colleges and community centers. Recognized by the Student Government Association (SGA) the UW-Stevens Point NDEO Student Chapter sponsors activities and events that are open to students across campus. Membership in the UWSP NDEO is open to all qualifying students and provides a forum for intellectual and creative exchange. Student members are also eligible to graduate with honors through the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). Announcements of UWSP NDEO Student Chapter activities and events are posted on Facebook, UW-Stevens Point NDEO Student Chapter, Instagram, uwsp_ndeo, other social media platforms, and the dance program call board in the NFAC 136A warmup area. 

 
 

NHSDA Collegiate 
Program Goals:

  •  To encourage exploration of dance education pedagogy, choreography, performance, research, community outreach, and advocacy in the context of a broad dance program.
  • To stimulate dialogue and networking between students, faculty, and experts in the field.
  • To promote the use of standards in dance education curriculum and teaching methods.
  • To develop future leaders in the field of dance arts education and performance
