Usually, the summer months are the best times for the Maintenance Work Unit to gain access to common areas for repairs, painting and other projects. Because of the normally busy class schedules on campus, summer time in some cases, is the only time to refresh common areas. Be sure to check back to this page for updates on work locations during the summer months as we try to keep you informed of work in or near your area.

In April, 2016, the maintenance team moved to a paperless work order system.  Our technicians utilize smart phones (or I-Pads in some cases) to receive and complete their work orders.  The result is a more accurate and responsive work order process.  These electronic devices also allow our technicians the ability to be more effective in analyzing and repairing campus equipment (example:  technicians can take photos of parts / equipment needing repair, technicians can search the internet for information associated with a specific repair etc.).  Facility Services remains committed to providing our maintenance team with the technology and tools necessary to support our valuable campus customers.

Coming Soon:  Our existing Building Management System is being upgraded to include energy dashboard software.  This software will provide our students and staff with internet access to various energy and utility data.  We are scheduled to have the software functional during the summer of 2016.  Please watch your daily MOD for more information regarding the energy dashboard software.

Recently Gil Kvatek, a painter for the UWSP Facility Services - Maintenance Work Unit, once again displayed his incredible artistic skills.  He was asked if he could help create signs for a local charity event and using nothing more than spray paint, came up with these beautiful signs during one of his break periods.  Our staff's artistry is always on display wherever they perform their work. Thanks for helping out Gil.
