College for Kids is for children seeking fun and adventurous learning opportunities. Our engaging classes are designed to stimulate curiosity, encourage creativity, instill confidence, and develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills—while having a great time! All of our classes are taught by highly trained and talented instructors from the university, community, and area school districts. These are not your typical classes found in your public summer school programs.

  • If child is only attending one session, please email Mara Prausa mprausa@uwsp.edu​​ prior to registering for registration guidelines.

  • You must be able to provide the campers health history, current medications (if any), immunizations, insurance, and health care providers at the time of registration​.​

Through Continuing Education’s registration process, we collect parental online contact information (name, phone, email) to obtain your consent for your child/ward to attend our camp. Your consent is required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information collected from your child/ward. Continuing Education will not collect, use, or disclose any personal information from your child without parental consent. In addition to your child’s/ward’s first and last name, we collect the following information:

  • Home address
  • Mobile phone number (if applicable)
  • Birthdate of child
  • Age of child
  • Gender
  • School attending
  • Grade in school
  • T-shirt size

K-1 Grade Session Descriptions

Session I - 8:45 - 10:15 a.m.

Kiddin Around Yoga | Instructor: Jessie Robinson

Let’s ride our magic carpet to explore adventures in Kiddin Around Yogaland! Move, Laugh, and Play! Kiddin Around Yoga class taught by Miss Jess is a very active class where you can explore silly yoga poses, partner poses, and FUN games! While building confidence, body awareness, peace, an​d positive self-esteem in class we can maintain strong and healthy bodies. Oodles of  smiles and giggles in every class!


Under the Sea Adventures | Instructor: Christine Hajdu 

Dive into a world of creativity with our Under the Sea Arts and Crafts class! Let your imagination swim wild as we explore the wonders of the ocean through fun and exciting art projects. From colorful fish to magnificent underwater scenes, you'll have a blast bringing the magic of the sea to life! Join us for a splashing good time and create your very own underwater masterpiece!

Session II -  10:30 a.m. - ​Noon​

Journey Inside the Human Body | InstructorTracy Borcherdt​​

Join us on an exciting adventure as we peel back the layers of mystery surrounding our amazing bodies! Through fun and interactive activities, we'll explore the inner workings of the human body, from our beating hearts to our super-powered brains. Get ready to discover the secrets of how we breathe, move, and grow—all while having a blast!

Story and Art | Instructor: Rebecca Bauer

Join us for a magical journey into the world of stories and art! In this class, we will dive into captivating books and bring their tales to life through exciting art projects. From painting to collage, we will explore a variety of art mediums to express our creativity. Don't forget to bring your art smock and get ready for a fun-filled adventure where every story leads to a masterpiece!

2-3 Grade Session Descriptions

Session I - 8:45 - 10:15 a.m.

Drama class: Alice in WonderlandDirector: Cindi Strobel

 This fun version of the beloved classic is written just for kids! We will audition on Monday, rehearse all week, and perform on Friday! Parents, grandparents, etc are welcome to attend the short performance on Friday during the last 20 minutes of class. Students will also learn acting skills, theatre vocabulary, and some prop/costume creation. There are small, medium, and larger roles available!





Groove and Move: Break Dance & Hip Hop Workshop! | Instructor: Johnny Yang

Get ready to bust a move and feel the rhythm in our Break Dance & Hip Hop Workshop! This exciting class is all about learning cool dance moves and expressing emotions to your favorite beats. From funky footwork to smooth body waves, you'll have a blast exploring the world of hip hop dance. Whether you're a beginner or a budding dance star, this workshop is the perfect place to let your creativity shine and show off your awesome moves! Join us for a high-energy dance adventure that's sure to get you grooving!

Session II -  10:30 a.m. - Noon​

​​Zumba ​| Instructor: Jessie Robinson

The Zumba® Kids session with Miss Jess is the ultimate dance-fitness party, where you can play it loud and rock with friends! This class is packed with high-energy dance steps, fun games, cultural exploration, and music that gets you movin' to the beat!




Amo Español Instructor: Catalina Cabello 

Come and be bilingual!  Learn basic Spanish through hands-on projects, music, interactive games, treats, conversation and dance! Immerse yourself in the beautiful Spanish language and culture. Topics to be covered include summertime, telling the time, describing people and surroundings and talking about family and friends.

4-6 Grade Session Descriptions

Session I - 8:45 - 10:15 a.m.

Amo Español Instructor: Catalina Cabello 

Come and be bilingual!  Learn basic Spanish through hands-on projects, music, interactive games, treats, conversation and dance! Immerse yourself in the beautiful Spanish language and culture. Topics to be covered include summertime, telling the time, describing people and surroundings and talking about family and friends.

Catalina Cabello is a native Spanish speaker originally from Ecuador (South America) and has extensive teaching experience as a language instructor in Ecuador and in the United States.  Her interests include creating effective second language acquisition learning activities, providing personalized instruction and enhancing the appreciation and value of different cultures.

​Zombie Emergency! | Instructor: Rebecca Bauer 

The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us and the UW is under attack! How will you survive? In this scary fun class focusing on problem solving and communication, you’ll work through fictional scenarios, develop an emergency plan of action, and participate in a zombie survival kit scavenger hunt. 

Session II -  10:30 a.m. - Noon​

Aquaponics Explorers: Dive into Sustainable Gardening! (ADVANCED CLASS for Agro-Science enthusiasts) Instructor: Angie Stanley

Embark on an exciting journey into the world of aquaponics, where fish and plants work together to create a sustainable ecosystem! In this hands-on class, students will learn how to set up and maintain their own mini aquaponics system using soda liters as fish tanks. They'll discover the fascinating relationship between fish and plants, as well as the importance of water quality and fish care. Through fun experiments and activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability and the role they can play in caring for our planet. Join us for a fishy and plant-tastic adventure! 

*Note to Parents: Students will bring home a fish and homemade fish tank which will require continued maintenance and care beyond this camp.

Cancellation Policy


Refunds will be made if the Continuing Education office is contacted at least seven days before the start of class. No refunds with less than seven days’ notice. Programs that involve pre-ordering of materials and travel will not qualify for any refund unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, severe weather or instructor illness. ​BE SURE to provide your email address and phone number during registration so that we may contact you if a class is canceled for any reason!
