Governor Scott Walker's proposal to maintain the tuition freeze for the University of Wisconsin is meant to help keep state college affordable.

Some faculty at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point are worried that a continued tuition freeze along with budget cuts could mean students would have to stay in college for an additional year.

There has been an 18% decrease in faculty from January 2015- March 2016, meaning there are less faculty members having to teach more classes.

This has created long waiting lists for some classes that students have to take to graduate according to Timothy Halkowski who serves as head of the Division of Communications and Associate Dean for the School of Fine Arts and Communication.

Pay is also an issue.
