Several central Wisconsin biotech companies along with the Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology and local and regional economic development organizations participated on the big stage April 22 to 25 at the 2013 BIO International Convention in Chicago.

“The worldwide reach and cutting-edge capabilities of these central Wisconsin based companies are an indication of the significant impact the bio-science industry has on the regional economy,” Peg Sullivan, executive director with the regional economic development alliance Centergy, said in a news release. “With over 16,500 biotechnology professionals from more than 65 countries participating at the BIO international convention, it is a great opportunity to promote central Wisconsin companies on a worldwide platform and to leverage advantages we have in this dynamic industry to encourage other bio-tech companies to consider the region when locating their firms.”
