STEVENS POINT — The Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable Technology teaches innovation.

Paul Fowler, director of the multidisciplinary program of the College of Natural Resources and the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, said he believes WIST is great for students to be a part of.

“We have students work here on real-world projects,” Fowler said. “The students get to work in the laboratory and with the machines.”
A current project of both the organization and its student employees is the creation of the building blocks of rubber from forestry residue.
