Students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will be asked about their experiences with sexual assault on campus next year as the school works to gather more information about the issue.

Students will be asked, but not required, to participate in a survey that will include questions about whether they have ever been sexually assaulted and whether they were told about resources meant to help sexual assault victims on campus, said Dean of Students Troy Seppelt. The survey won’t be limited to sexual assault and will also include questions about other forms of interpersonal violence, which the school hopes will provide a clearer picture of what's happening on campus, including incidents that may have otherwise gone unreported.

The survey, which students will be able to complete anonymously, is still being finalized, but is expected to go to students Feb. 27, Seppelt said.
