Tens of thousands of students poured back into classrooms throughout Wisconsin on Tuesday.
There were some anxious moments for students who wanted to spend just a few more moments with their parents before they embarked on their educational adventures. One Lincoln Elementary School teacher comforted a student in the hallway as he cried, possibly because he was afraid to be away from his parents and in an unknown environment for the first time.
But it’s not only the students who were nervous for the first day of school. Teachers — especially those who are welcoming students into their classrooms for the first time ever — arguably are more nervous than their young charges. They just know how to conceal their anxiety better.
