Michigan State University’s Holden Hall will never be confused with Kitchen Stadium, the venue for the Iron Chef America television series.

But there was no lack of drama Monday when chefs from nine Midwestern universities faced off in the Midwest Region Culinary Challenge, held at MSU for the first time in 24 years....
