Bringing attention and insight into the trans community and gender identities, a weeklong series of free programs will be offered Oct. 31-Nov. 4 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is offering Trans Visibility programs from 6-8 p.m. each evening in the Dreyfus University Center. The series is aimed at educating members of the community about gender identities, said student Lyn Ciurro. It is open to people of all genders, sexual orientations, political affiliations, religions, ethnicities, abilities and means.

"The Trans Visibility Campaign is creating a welcoming and affirming campus and community through education and activism," Ciurro said. "Join us with an open mind and a willingness to learn how you can be a part of this movement."

The programs include:

  • Monday, Oct. 31 – Trans Sensitivity Training, Alumni Room
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1 – Trans Questions and Answers, Alumni Room
  • Wednesday, Nov. 2 – Non-Binary Breakdown, Laird Room South
  • Thursday, Nov. 3 – Alaura Seidl, an artist from Madison, will lead an interactive art workshop focusing on overcoming gender dysphoria, Alumni Room
