Professor Rhonda
Sprague, associate dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC),
has been named interim dean of the college at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She begins the new role this week.
Sprague has
served as head of the Division of Communication since 2012.
She teaches
interpersonal and organizational communications and joined UW-Stevens
Point in 1998. She completed her Ph.D.

A search for dean
will start later this fall, with a goal of naming a permanent successor by May
2016.
“Rhonda has an
outstanding record of scholarship, teaching and service during her 17 years at
UW-Stevens Point,” said Greg Summers, provost and vice chancellor for academic
affairs, in appointing her.
Timothy
Halkowski, associate professor of communications, will serve as interim head of
the Division of Communication.
Sprague has
extensive experience with numerous governance committees at UW-Stevens Point.
In the community, she is a member of the
Monteverdi Master Chorale and serves on the Board of Directors for Central
Wisconsin Habitat for Humanity.
