Learn to tap dance, or enjoy its rhythm, during the
Point Tap Festival in Stevens Point Aug. 7-9.
Now in its fifth year, the event brings tap students and
internationally known faculty to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for
three days of intensive classes. On Saturday, Aug. 9, a mini-fest package is
offered for those with little or no tap experience, and tap shoes are not
Two performances are open to the public. A free jam
session will be held on the Public Square in downtown Stevens Point from 7 to 9
p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. A festival show will be performed by faculty at 8 p.m.
Saturday in the Noel Fine Arts Center dance studio (room 136). Tickets at the
door for the Saturday event are $15 for adults and $5 for children 14 and
