Pointers win!

Congratulations to the UW-Stevens Point men’s hockey team, which claimed a 5-1 victory over St. Norbert College Saturday in the Division III National Championship Game in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Alex Brooks, Jacob Barber, Lawrence Cornellier, Eliot Grauer and Kyle Sharkey all scored goals for the Pointers en route to their fifth title in program history. Max Milosek recorded 21 saves in goal.

This was the third national championship game for the men’s hockey team in the past three years. The Pointers came up short against St. Norbert’s in 2014, and Trinity of Hartford, Conn., in 2015. The third time was indeed the charm for the Pointers.

To mark the championship, the cupola on Old Main is now lit in purple and gold. Stay tuned for more coming soon.
