Biography

After finishing university, Trisha lived, worked, and studied in Japan for eight years. Following that, she spent one year at Colorado State University before she went back abroad.

The English Language Fellow Program through the US Department of State is what brought her back abroad, this time to the country of Qatar. As an English Language Fellow in Qatar, Trisha conducted content-and-language-integrated language training for public school educators. She also conducted programmatic needs analyses and developed corresponding large-scale workshops and professional development opportunities. She also ran assessments on private language programs throughout the country and worked with the programs to understand and employ educational best practices.

From 2008–2014, Trisha stayed in the country of Qatar, as an employee of Qatar Foundation. While there, she was a teacher-trainer, post-secondary science instructor, education coordinator, and an active board member of Qatar TESOL, where she served in many capacities to liaise with the US Embassy's English language programs, to perform outreach, and to serve the educational community of Qatar.

In 2014, Trisha started at UW-Stevens Point as the Director of the Tutoring-Learning Center, offering academic support services (content tutoring, writing support, academic coaching, mentoring, credited courses, ELL support, world language tutoring, and summer bridge programs in math and mentoring).

In 2017, Trisha completed her doctorate in Educational Leadership. Her research focuses on peer-led team learning, student success, and mentoring.
