Faculty and Staff

When modern environmentalism arose in the 1960s, it built upon conservation’s concern for natural resources but also emphasized the interconnectedness of all life. As a field, Environmental Studies follows that same premise.

No one discipline has authority over environmental inquiry, since the nature of the environment is biological and historical, geologic and gendered, and political and personal. Environmental Studies, therefore, is a field pursued through a variety of disciplines.

Our Environmental Studies minor introduces you to ways of thinking you might like to pursue as a major.

Neil and Chris are happy to answer any questions you may have.
