Your return/exchange deadlines for items purchased at the University Store

University Store Return Policy

Books (Course and General)

​During the Academic Semesters (Fall and Spring) books are returnable until a specified date determined by the Add/Drop date for the semester. After that date, books are returnable for one business day.

Non-book Merchandise

​Non-book merchandise is returnable for 30 days from the date of purchase.

Additionally, you must meet the following criteria in order to make a return:

  • You must present the original cash register receipt
  • Item must be returned in the same condition purchased in - tags attached, resellable condition, etc.
  • If you find that your purchase item is defective you may exchange it for a non-defective item at any time during the semester with the original cash register receipt. Please make these exchanges as soon as you realize the defect.
  • You will be credited in the same manner in which you purchased the item (i.e. returned to the same credit card it was purchased on)

All Refunds will be Processed as Follows

  • ​Full refund with original cash register receipt and above conditions met.
  • Exchanged only without receipt, at the discretion of the department or store manager
    • Exchanged for the indentical product OR
    • The lowest retail sale price of the last two semesters applied to exchange process on item being returned (generally 35%)
  • Customers returning online purchases will be refunded according to the full page invoice shipped with the merchandise.
  • Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded.

Non-Returnable Items

  • ​Commencement Materials
  • Clearance Items
  • Gift Cards
  • Items with colored slashes through the PLU/SKU
