An excursion to two of Europe’s highest and most stunning peaks is offered within the trip of a lifetime to Switzerland and France. Mt. Blanc (France) and the Matterhorn (Switzerland) are two of Europe’s most astounding peaks that will surely add to this amazing European experience. Hikers will experience the unique ambiance of two of the most famous Alpine villages: Chamonix, a world-class hiking and mountaineering village, lies at the foot of Mt. Blanc in the French Alps; and Zermatt, an auto free mountaineering village nestled at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps,  is only accessible via cog-rail or by foot. Participants will spend three days in the beautiful and historic city of Geneva, take in the local culture, foods, museums, and more in this elegant city. A once-in-a lifetime boat ride on Lake Geneva will take participants to another rich cultural experience in Montreux. A visit to the Castle of Chillon in Montreux in addition to the residence of Byron and other romantic English writers will be included at this stop. The city also offers beautiful views of the unique and elegant architecture within the city. Throughout this trip walks and hikes will be available for those of all ability levels. With so many cultural wonders to explore participants are sure to enjoy every step of this Switzerland and France adventure.

South African Photography Safari

Leaders: John Munson (UW-Stevens Point professor emeritus of wellness and trip leader of 25 years), Kolobe Safari Guides (professional safari guides who are trained rifleman for required protection from animals)
Travel and explore the exciting landscapes of South Africa while taking magnificent wildlife photos. With this photographic safari led by Kolobe Safari’s, participants will build lifetime memories while capturing amazing and truly unique African landscapes and animals. The trip will feature traditional South African cuisine and an opportunity to try the finest South African wines. There will also be discussions led by professional photographers along with opportunities to view and discuss photographs taken during the trip. The South African photography safari will highlight many amazing photo opportunities including potential close-up photos of cheetahs and other big cats, waterfalls and gorges, large elephant herds and many other amazing wildlife. Some of the additional wildlife featured at various camps will include baboons, monkeys, hyenas, jackals, waterbucks, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, giraffes and many more. This trip will not disappoint participants who will not only be able to immerse themselves in photography opportunities, but also in the South African culture and cuisine.
