Sara Williams has worked as a lecturer in the ESL Program at UW-Stevens Point since 2008. Although she is a native of Stevens Point, she has spent much of her adult life living and working in France and French speaking West Africa. She and her husband, Gordon, raised their family in Senegal, West Africa, where they worked analyzing some of the many unwritten languages spoken there and training others to do the same.
Sara graduated from SPASH and holds degrees from both American and French universities in education and linguistics. She has taught everyone from young children to adults, and from people learning to read and write for the first time to members of the Senegalese Ministry of Literacy. She enjoys helping students perfect their English and hopes to transmit some of her passion for all languages and the people who speak them. When she is not working, you will find her outside hiking, biking or cross-country skiing.
