Manufacturing Tour

Hayward | Oct. 23 | Time TBA

Tours are available exclusively for school groups. Students and teachers can gain firsthand experience at LP’s Hayward, Wisconsin facility, which produces LP® SmartSide® siding and other engineered wood products for residential construction. These tours highlight the wide range of career paths in manufacturing and engineering, offering insight into how LP’s sustainable, innovative products are made and helping students explore potential career opportunities.

Tours are available for school groups from 9th grade through college, with a maximum of 20 participants. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Manufacturing of Timber Curtain Wall Tour

Lumber Mill Tour

Since 1865, MTE has been committed to the practices and principles of integrated sustainable forest management and manufacturing sustainable forest products. MTE harvests timber from their 236,000 acre Reservation. For 160 years they have produced lumber and marketed the lumber across the world.

9th grade students through adults are welcome. Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes. The maximum number of students for this tour has been reached. We encourage you to explore other Forest Products Week tour options in your area!

Manufacturing Tour

Marathon | Oct. 23 | 10-11:30 a.m.

A proud fifth-generation family business, Menzner Hardwoods is America’s leading manufacturer of hardwood mouldings, millwork and lumber. We are dedicated to making high-quality hardwood products that help bring vision for your space to life. We’ve grown significantly from our humble beginnings as a sawmill fueled by logs harvested from logging camps in Northern Wisconsin. Join us for a tour to explore our air drying and kiln yard, rough mill and moulding mill to learn more about how we make the most of our area’s beautiful forest products.

7th grade students through adults are welcome. No hoodies or drawstrings.

CENTRAL | Central Wisconsin Woodworking Corporation

Custom Cabinetry Tour

Weston | Oct. 23 | 1-2:30 p.m.

CWWC is a full-service manufacturer of high-end architectural woodwork, casework, and custom interiors. They offer design services, project management, shop drawings, finishing, delivery, and installation. Tour CWWC’s veneer face and pressing departments, get an overview of CWWC, and explore their machining, fabrication, finishing, and shipping departments.

7th grade students through adults are welcome. Please wear closed toe shoes.

Wood Products Manufacturing Tour

Bangor | Oct. 23 | 10-11:30 a.m.

Stella-Jones is a leading North American manufacturer of industrial pressure-treated wood products. Responding to the vital infrastructure needs of our economy, we manufacture and distribute railway ties, utility poles, residential lumber and industrial wood products across the continent.

Available to ages 16+.

South | The Wood Cycle

Urban Wood Tour

Oregon | Oct. 23 | Hourly from 10am-4pm

The Wood Cycle is a log to finished product urban wood business. Specifically we gather urban trees from the Madison Wisconsin area, we saw lumber and slabs, kiln dry that material and then sell both urban hardwoods and finished goods ranging from small art items to furniture to full kitchen cabinetry and beyond. Much of the urban wood we gather is also supplied to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations in Madison, so that other local woodworkers can share in the beautiful potential of our local hardwoods.

Available to students through adults. Part of this tour is outdoors. Closed toe shoes and weather appropriate attire is required.
